Mrs. Willie Mae Falco

Mrs. Willie Mae Falco, 93 of Navasota, passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at her home. Visitation with family and friends will be held from 5:00pm – 7:00pm, Friday, November 24th at Nobles Funeral Chapel. A celebration of her life will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Navasota with interment following in Oakland Cemetery. Rev. Don Kasper and Rev. Matthias Dinger will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.

Willie Mae Hoefelmeyer Falco was born on April 4, 1924 in the community of Sandy Hill in Washington County, Texas to Willie and Sophie Dreyer Hoefelmeyer. She was baptized on August 10, 1924 at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Sandy Hill by Rev. G. Czerkus. Willie Mae was confirmed April 2, 1939 by Rev. Rudolf Becker, also in Sandy Hill.

Willie Mae married Dominick (Nick) Falco on January 17, 1942 at the First Baptist Church in Brenham, Texas. They moved to Navasota and in 1948 joined Trinity Lutheran Church. Willie Mae has been a member of Trinity Lutheran Church for 69 years. During that time, she was a member of the LWML and served for six years as president. She also taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible School for 15 years. She helped design the plans for the educational building class rooms, helped sew the church’s altar covers and baptismal banner and helped with the Altar Remodeling Committee.

Willie Mae and her husband purchased Falco’s Grocery and Meat Market in 1962. They successfully ran the business for over 40 years together. After retiring, she became a six year volunteer at Grimes St. Joseph’s Hospital in Navasota.

Willie Mae was preceded in death by Nick, her husband of 65 years; her parents; her brother Edwin who died in World War II in Germany; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Hilda and Ben Schroeder, Minnie and Otice Conner and Alice and Ed Hemann; daughter-in-law Ursula-Karin Dietz Falco and twin great grandsons, Brandon and Dillon Falco.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law Dominick Falco, Jr., Charles and Margaret Horn Falco and James and Josephine Sanchez Falco; nine grandchildren (and spouses), Sandra Falco and Roger Burns, Charles Eugene and Tammy Patterson Falco, Sonya Falco and Thomas Floyd, Sylvia Falco and Kevin Kraeft, Craig and Debbie Bullard Falco, Kristi Falco and Trent Davis, Jena Falco and Chris Guajardo, Joel and Janeth Falco and Jared Falco; 13 great-grandchildren, Quentin Burns, Cecily Falco, Ethan (and wife Beathaney) and Nickayla Floyd, Kamrey and Cidnie Amann, Taylor and Aubri Falco, Brooklyn Guajardo, Jessica and Justin Falco, Charlotte Davis and Mason Kraeft; and two great, great-grandchildren, Farrah Floyd and Miles Mohler.
