William “Billy” Paul Thomas, Jr., 77 of Richards, passed away on January 17th at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in College Station, Texas. Billy was born on February 6, 1943 in Houston, to William “Bill” Paul and Annie Mae Thomas. He was a graduate of Southwestern University and earned his master’s degree from Texas A&M University. Billy was a rancher, educator and a member of the Richards United Methodist Church, Antique Car Clubs, and served on the Texas Soil and Water Conservation Board. He dedicated himself to God, family, friends, and country. Billy loved music and was an accomplished organist. Billy also had a love for art, history, and was a great Texas and American patriot. The funeral service will be held at the Christ United Methodist Church, 4201 State Highway 6 South, College Station, Texas 77845 on Tuesday, January 26th. The visitation and viewing will be from 1:00 pm followed by the funeral service at 2:00 pm. The family will have a private burial immediately following. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
