William John "Bubba" Skrivanek, 55, of Wellborn passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2011. The family will receive visitors from 6-8pm Monday, with a parish rosary beginning at 7pm at Nobles Funeral Chapel. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10am Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bryan with the Rev. Monsignor John McCaffery officiating.. Rite of committal will follow in the Dodson Cemetery.
Bubba was born in Sealyon August 8, 1955, the son of Johnnie and Iva (Schumacher) Skrivanek. He graduated in 1978 from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science. He worked many years as the manager of the Texas A&M Veterinary Medical Research Park. He was happiest in the pasture with the cows, and hunting with his good friend, Travis. Bubba's most precious memories were the times he spent with his daughter Sarah.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his daughter Sarah Elizabeth Skrivanek; her mother, Julia Skrivanek; and her grandmother, Sandra Shaughnessy, all of Wellborn; his sister, Albie Ann Horn of Brookshire; nieces, Meagan Horn and Shannon Hacke of Brookshire; and aunt, Esther Breeden of Bryan.
Serving as pallbearers are Travis Gray, Johnny Locke and Ralph Manning, all of Bryan, James Haak of Houston, Danny Baker and Ted Diemer, both of Brookshire, Jim Nowak of Snook, and J.W. "Dumpy" Dickson of Millican.
