William Minsky

William "Bill" Lawrence Minsky, 74 of Anderson passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2007 in College Station.
He was born on Tuesday, April 4, 1933 to Lila Mae Nobles and Lawrence Minsky.
A memorial services is set for Saturday, July 14 at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Navasota with the Reverend Tim Bruegger officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, July 13 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Nobles Funeral Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Mr. Minsky served in the United States Air Force, and while stationed in Alaska flew back to Texas to marry his high school sweetheart, Joanne McGee, in 1955. On February 5, 1959, Bill and Joanne's lives were enriched by the arrival of their daughter Lisa. After attending Texas A&M University, Mr. Minsky was very devoted to his career as an insurance adjuster, as he felt his calling to assist those who had suffered losses. In 1979, Bill and Joanne started their own firm which served them well. The couple moved to Anderson in 1992, and gave their time volunteering assistance to the Fanthorp Inn and the Grimes County Historical Commission. Mr. Minsky served as chaplain to the Grimes County Sheriff's Department and devoted his time as a counselor. He was also responsible for opening the chapel in the new county jail for inmates on Sunday mornings.
Mr. Minksy was a devoted and loving husband and an adoring father. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Joanne McGee Minsky of Anderson,; daughter and son-in-law, David & Lisa Minsky-Ward of Houston; granddaughters, Amy Ivey of Houston and Anne White of Houston; step-grandchildren, Shaun & Jennifer Ward of Houston and Dustin & Krystal Ward of Houston; great-grandsons, Bryan Allen Ivey and Brandon William Ivey, both of Houston; and step-great-granddaughter, Chelsea Diana Ward of Houston.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lila Mae and Lawrence Minsky.
