Mr. William Robert "Wild Bill" McCune

Mr. William Robert “Wild Bill” McCune, 70, of Navasota, passed away Monday, October 28th at his residence. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 2nd from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Nobles Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. C. McAllister “Mac” Vaughn officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Mr. McCune was born in Fair Haven Township, IL on Sunday, July 11, 1943, the son of Allen and Violet (Walters) McCune. He grew up in Stevens Point, WI and graduated from P. J. Jacobs High School in 1961.
William was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam as a helicopter mechanic. He worked at Del Monte Corp. where he met and later married Jaci Kirst. He was currently working with his sons at Dirk McCune Trucking in Navasota.
Mr. McCune was a loving father and grandfather and friend to many. He is survived by his sons, Dirk McCune and his wife Sandra of Navasota, Heath McCune of Rosholt, WI and Wayne McCune and his wife Lindsey of Navasota; sisters, Sandra of Milwaukee, WI, Judy and Barbara of Stevens Point, WI; brother, Don McCune of Las Vegas, NV; and grandchildren , Clay, Cody, Carson, Elisabeth, Jaden and Jozlyn.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jerry McCune.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church of Navasota.
