William "Bill" Hughes, 63, of Anderson passed away Sunday, December 30, 2007 at the College Station Medical Center.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 1 at Nobles Funeral Chapel with the family present from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Funeral services are set for Wednesday at 2:00 pm at the funeral home with the Rev. Larry Andrews officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Carlos. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Bill was born on April 26, 1944 in Navasota, Texas, son of Katie (Yanchak) and Jasper Hughes. A citizen of Grimes County his entire life, he married Linda Kolbachinski on June 1, 1963 at the Carlos Missionary Baptist Church. He owned and operated B&M Sandblasting and Painting with Linda for the past 40 years. Bill was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and riding 4-wheelers.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Katherine Hughes; and brother, Charles Hughes.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Linda; sons and daughters-in-law, Richard & Lisa Hughes of Anderson and Mark & Judy Hughes of Anderson; brothers and sisters-in-law, Andrew & Dorothy Hughes of Navasota, Howard Hughes of Austin, and Donald & Liz Hughes of Albuquerque, NM; and grandchildren, Stacy Harman and her husband Bo, Shawnee Hughes, and Cole Hughes.
Serving as pallbearers are Karl Schneider, Billy Busa, Bruce Crenshaw, Glen Molitor, Otis Brunette, and Cory Brunette.
