William M. Crawford, 89, of Houston passed away Saturday, October 20, 2007, at his residence.
Funeral services are set for 3 p.m. Thursday, October 25 at Nobles Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Mr. Crawford was born on February 17, 1918, in Navasota, son of Minnie Lee (MacGregor) and Robert Dewitt Crawford. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and received an honorable discharge as a Lieutenant Colonel. He continued flying planes as a hobby along with playing golf, bridge, Scrabble, and working crosswords. He was also very proud of his lawn and gardening work.
William is survived by his daughters, Carolyn and Sara Ann Crawford, both of Houston; brother, David Washington Crawford of Mountain Home, Texas; sisters-in-law, Dixie Crawford of Mountain Home and Mary S. Crawford of Navasota; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Minnie Crawford; wife, Isaura Bossley Crawford; and brothers, Lewis Dewitt and Herbert Lee Crawford.
