Mr. William F. Bushman, 84, of Roans Prairie passed away Tuesday, November 8 at the College Station Medical Center. The family will receive visitors from 5-7pm Friday, November 11 and funeral services are set for 10am Saturday, November 12, both at Nobles Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Danny Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Carlos.
William was born in Lynn Grove on September 6, 1927, the son of August and Lena (Abke) Bushman. He married Dorothy Kolbachinski in Navasota on January 24, 1948 and loved her for 63 years. He was a loving husband and father to his two boys, and very proud of his 3 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, and in 1991 William retired from his position at Texas Industrial Painting where he was CEO/President, and moved from Lake Jackson to the family ranch in Roans Prairie. There he spent his time doing what he loved; working every day with the cattle and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Carlos Missionary Baptist Church, the Texas Southwestern Cattle Raisers and on the Board of Directors of First National Bank of Anderson.
William was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents, Fritz and Charlotte Bushman; and sisters, Mayola Perry and Elvina Butts.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Roans Prairie; sons and daughters-in-law, Richard (Buddy) and Pam Bushman of Roans Prairie and Darrell and Emmy Bushman of Huntsville; brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Mae Bushman of Piedmont; sisters,Lena Mae Krueger and Reba Lou Brown; grandchildren, Vicki Hillert, Travis Bushman, Alice Pavlak; and great-grandchildren, Lauren Hillert, Lane Hillert, Blake Bushman and Addison Bushman.
