Mrs. Vivian Methvin, 86, of College Station passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2010. The family will receive visitors at 9am Saturday, October 16, with a funeral service beginning at 10am Saturday, at Nobles Funeral Chapel in Navasota, with Chaplain Gary Roe officiating. Interment will be at 3pm in R.S. Farmer Cemetery in Silsbee, TX.
Vivian was born in Hardin County on March 16, 1921 to William and Susan (Dowden) Free. She was active in the American Business Women's Association and an Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George Methvin; sisters, Evelyn Johnson & Flo Kelly; and brothers, Billy Free & Matthew Free.
Survivors include her daughters & sons-in-law, Billie Sue & Don Lightfoot of Navasota, and Judy Kay & Kenneth Lanclos of Evans, GA; son, George E. Methvin II & wife Marie of Ashville, NC; sister & brother-in-law, Dorothy & Richard Burgess of Spring; brothers & sisters-in-law, Herbert Free of Burton, Rodney & Bonnie Free of Ft. Worth, and Jennie Free of Sunnyvale; 6 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers are Leigh Malloch of Chappell Hill, Dr. Kevin Lanclos of Covington, GA, Damien Lanclos of Augusta, GA, Patrick Methvin of Atlanta, GA, Scott Malloch of Chappell Hill, and Charles (Chuck) Burgess of Milano.
