Vera Mitchell

Mrs. Vera Louise Mitchell, 92, of Pasadena passed away Thursday, July 11, 2013, at her home. Visitation with the family will be Monday, July 15th from 8:30 – 10:00am at Nobles Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 10:00am at the funeral home with the Rev. Larry Womack officiating. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Vera was born on May 19, 1921, in Navasota, the daughter of Finnie & Ada Hughey. She married Vernon Mitchell in Navasota on May 21, 1939, and she worked as a cafeteria manager for the school district. Vera was also a member of the Woodman of the World.
Mrs. Mitchell was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Estelle Tillery and Irene Mize; and brother, Henry Hughey.
She is survived by her husband, Vernon Mitchell of Pasadena; son, James Mitchell and wife Glenda of Deer Park; grandchildren, Misty Bonham and husband Michael of Humble and Christy Ham and husband Jarad of La Porte; and great-grandchildren, Madison, Makenzie, and Matthew Bonham and Cody, Tanner, and Laurynn Ham.
Serving as pallbearers are Jarad Ham, Michael Bonham, Cody Saylor, Phil Johnson, Ross Mitchell, and Hamp Harris.
