Tommy Parker, 72, of Navasota passed away Sunday, May 22, 2011 at his residence. A memorial service is set for 10am Saturday, June 4 at the First United Methodist Church in Navasota with the Rev. Mac Vaughn officiating.
Tommy was born on July 1, 1938 in Madisonville, the son of Clyde and Gracie (Goolsby) Parker. He married Nelda Carrell in Navasota on February 1, 1982. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Navasota, and of the Tejas Vaqueros.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Billy & Alton Parker; and sister, Shirley Binford.
Survivors include his wife; daughters & sons-in-law, Stacey and Chad Ross of Navasota, and Vonda & Stanley Sechelski of Anderson; sister-in-law, Grace Parker of Navasota; sister & brother-in-law, Delores & Hal Wyatt of Center; and grandchildren, Corey Ross of Navasota, Blaine Sechelski, Sloan Sechelski and Haden Sechelski, all of Anderson.
Honorary pallbearers are Butch Robinson, Bob Frazier, Mike Koch, Carl Snyder, Rance "The Old Fart" Barham, Joe E. Pedigo, Toby Hicks, Buck Reams, Loyd Finke, Stan Crane, Jimmy Shimshack, Mark Shimshack, Gwen Lively, and all members of The Tejas Vaqueros.
The family would like to send a special thanks to Dr. Dan Lehane who treated Tommy and is also a member of the Tejas Vaqueros.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
