Mr. Tom P. True, Sr, 82, of Bedias passed away Friday, September 2nd at his home. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, September 6th from 5:00-7:00pm at Nobles Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 7th at 10:00am at the Shiro Baptist Church with the Revs. Jay Kott, Floyd Hoke and Jack Jeter officiating. Interment will follow in the Bedias Baptist Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Tom was born October 26, 1933 in Temple, Texas to Harry and Dora (Walker) True. He graduated from high school and attended University of Houston where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree. He proudly served our country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Tom married Ina Mozelle Walker in July of 1957 in Lubbock, Texas and together they raised two sons. He was an electrical service engineer, and a strong Christian leader. He was a Deacon, led Bible Study, sang in the choir and could oftentimes be found spreading hope among the homeless and underprivileged in Houston.
Left to cherish his legacy are his loving wife of 59 years, Ina True of Bedias; sons Tom P. True, Jr., of Roans Prairie; Andy True of Roans Prairie; sister-in-law Tressie True; grandchildren Andrea, Sarah and Calvin, Jr., and great-grandchild Immy True.
Serving as pallbearers are Roland Webb of Singleton, Lynn Koronka of Brenham, Robert Holmes of Cypress, Steve Turner of Shiro, Wesley White of Cleveland and Van Rigby of Bedias.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial donation to Shiro Baptist Church.
