Thomas Glenn Sloan, Sr. of White Hall passed away at his home on December 14, 2009, surrounded by his loving family. Tom was born in Houston on March 25, 1952 to Julius and Edith Sloan.
Mr. Sloan is survived by his wife of 34 years, Peggy Sloan of Navasota; son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Kate Sloan of The Woodlands; daughter and son-in-law, Kristin and Patrick Malek; first granddaughter, Audrey Malek; and mother, Edith Sloan, all of Navasota; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jay and Patsy Sloan of Bowling Green, KY, and Don and Carolyn Sloan of Magnolia; mother-in-law, Myrtle Waters of San Antonio; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ray and Carol Waters of Magnolia; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Randy Taylor of Salado; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and dear friends.
Tom worked for many years in the drywall industry and owned his own business in Navasota. He enjoyed everything outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and was an active member and officer of Salem Lutheran Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Julius John Sloan, Jr.; father-in-law, Travis Waters; and sister-in-law, Doris Kessler.
Visitation will be held Friday evening, December 18, 2009 at Nobles Funeral Chapel in Navasota. A Christian service and burial is set for Saturday morning, December 19, 2009 at Tom's church home, Salem Lutheran Church in White Hall.
Serving as pallbearers are Adam Sandoval and Mathew Sandoval, both of Houston, Nathan Sandoval of Leander, Patrick Malek and James Johnson of Navasota, Tommy Sloan and Fred Ripper of White Hall, and Donald Sloan, Jr. of Magnolia.
