Ms. Sylvia Acosta Orozco, 57, of Bryan passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at St. David's Medical Center in Austin. Visitation with the family will be held Friday, June 28th at Faith Outreach Christian Center in Navasota from 5:00-7:00pm. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday at 10:00am at Faith Outreach Christian Center with the Rev. Henry Sanders officiating. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Sylvia was born in Houston on February 23, 1956, the daughter of Agustin & Aurelia (Arispe) Acosta.
She was preceded in death by her mother Aurelia Acosta, grandson Phillip Elias, sister-in-law Mary Acosta, and nephews, Thomas Acosta and Jessie Cantu.
Sylvia is survived by her father Agustin Acosta of Navasota; daughters, Veronica Garza and husband Tomas of Navasota, Violet Martinez and husband Juan of Navasota, Aurelia Orozco of Houston, Lisa Acosta of Bryan, and Mandy Mauricio of Bryan; sons, Joel Orozco and wife Jackie of Navasota and Daniel Orozco of Round Rock; sisters, Flora Cantu of Navasota, Vicky Cruz of Houston, and Alicia Mozqueda of Pasadena; brothers, Salvador Ledesma and wife Yolanda of La Porte, Bruno Acosta and wife Sylvia of Houston, Agustine Acosta and wife Amada of Houston, Johnny Acosta and wife Brenda of Navasota, and Felix Acosta of Houston; grandchildren, Alexa Garza, Ruben Elias, Jr., Ana Gallardo, Mattison Martinez, Jesus Orozco, Justine Orozco, Tomas Garza, Jr., Micky Garza, Hector Elias, Jacob Elias, Aaliyah Martinez, Carlos Martinez, Jolie Orozco, Alexus Hernandez, and Jaylynn Orozco.
Serving as pallbearers are Daniel Orozco of Round Rock, Joel Orozco, Ruben Elias, Jr., Johnny Acosta, Juan Martinez, and Tomas Garza, all of Navasota. Honorary pallbearers include Hector Elias, Jacob Elias, Carlos Martinez, and Jesus Orozco.
