Mr. Sydney Aikin, 92, of Anderson, passed away Sunday, February 8, 2009 at Grimes St. Joseph Health Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Thursday, February 12, at Anderson Baptist Church, with Rev. Kyle Childress officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Sydney was born January 10, 1917 in Gulfport, MS., to William and Lucille (Smiley) Aikin. He married Charlie Nell (McNair) Aikin in Long Beach, MS, on January 2, 1943.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Lucille Aikin, and his Grandparents.
Mr. Aikin is survived by his Wife, Charlie Aikin, sons & daughters-in-Law; Tom & Carol Aikin of Conroe, Barry & Denise Aikin of Anderson, and Doug Aikin of Brenham,
9 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers are Thomas Aikin of Anderson, Cody Aikin of Anderson, Matt Aikin of Ft. Worth, Ryan Aikin of Montgomery, Cody Chapman of Montgomery, and David Smith of Montgomery.
