Mr. Simon Medina Jr.

Mr. Simon Medina, Jr., 61 of Navasota, passed away Friday, February 12th at Golden Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation. Visitation with the family will begin at 5:00pm on Friday, February 19th at Nobles Funeral Chapel. A parish rosary will be recited at 7:00pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00am on Saturday, February 20th at Christ Our Light Catholic Church with the Rev. Rodolfo “JoJo” Cal-Ortiz officiating. Rite of committal will follow in Oakland Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Simon was born in South Carolina on August 8, 1954, to Simon Medina, Sr. and Aurelia Montez. He married Dolores Tamez on January 21, 1979, in Raymondville, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Ermelinda Medina; sister Felipa Macias; and brothers, Ruben “Crow” Montez, Lazaro “Pachi” Medina, and Reynaldo Montez.
Mr. Medina is survived by his wife Dolores Medina of Navasota; sons, Simon Medina III and girlfriend Alexa Garza of Navasota, Joel Medina and girlfriend Annon Weigelt of College Station, and Jeremy Medina of Navasota; sisters, Aurelia Palomo of Harlingen and Frances Reynolds of Oklahoma City, OK; brothers, Pedro Medina and Rolando Montez of Oklahoma City, OK and Florentino Medina and wife Brenda Medina of Harlingen; grandchildren, Yasmine Medina, Natalie Medina, Abriana Garza, Allison Garcia, and Aaron Garcia.
Serving as pallbearers are Leroy Palomo, Juan Palomo, Jr., Luis Fierro, Dominque Lowery, and Troy Green. Honorary pallbearers are Darian Anthony Palomo and David Cole Castillo.
