Miss Sierra Kay Simmons, 4, passed away Friday, June 19, 2009 from injuries suffered in a Wednesday, June 17th vehicle accident. Visitation for Sierra and her sister Jessica Mattern will be held from 3-7pm Tuesday, June 23 at Nobles Funeral Chapel and funeral services are set for 10am Wednesday, June 24 at the Navasota Junior High School Gym with Deacon Herbert Wheatfall and Dr. Ronald A. Bogs officiating. Interment will follow in Plantersville Cemetery.
Sierra was born December 19, 2004 in Bryan, to James and Crystal (Watkins) Simmons. She was a member of the Dance Station, and she loved horses, swimming, cooking and baking.
She is survived by her parents, James Simmons of White Hall and Crystal Simmons of Navasota; brothers, Matthew Mattern, Joseph Mattern and Timothy Mattern, all of Navasota; grandparents, Penny and Robert Watkins of Plantersville, and Louise Simmons of Magnolia.
Sierra was preceded in death by her sister, Jessica Mattern; grandfather, James Donald Simmons and great-grandmother, Diane Kay Alston.
Serving as pallbearers are Timothy Mattern of Navasota, Todd Laird of White Hall, James Kelley of Plantersville, Jacob Bennett and Jesse Maybaugh, both of Magnolia.
There has been an account opened at Guaranty Bank in Navasota to assist the family.
