Shirley Griffis Lopez

Shirley Griffis Lopez, 86 of Navasota, passed away Wednesday, August 10th at Golden Creek Healthcare in Navasota. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 am, Monday, August 15th at Courtney Cemetery in Navasota, Texas. Rev. Brad Qualls will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Shirley was born to Augustus and Billie (Lee ) Knight in Tyler, Texas on August 23, 1935. Shirley enjoyed crochet, playing solitaire on the computer and watching cooking shows on television. She was a devoted mother and an excellent cook (it is rumored that she served the best Pot Roast and pumpkin bread for miles!).
She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Cynthia and Justin Bowers, Pippa and William “Bubba” Dalton and Felicia and Mark Moon; grandchildren Andre Bowers, William “Little Bubba” Dalton (Jackie), Whitney Thane (Clayton), James Allen Jennings, Coty Wayne Jennings, Stephen Moon, Thomas Moon (Wanda) and Heidi Moon and 17 great grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers are Andre Bowers, Bubba Dalton, Clayton Thane, Stephen Moon, Thomas Moon and Justin Bowers. James Allen Jennings will serve as honorary bearer.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents.
