Mr. S.T. "Sam" Henderson

Mr. S.T. “Sam” Henderson, 81 of Navasota, passed away Saturday, December 5th at Hospice Brazos Valley in Bryan. Visitation with the family will be held Thursday, December 10th from 5:30-7:30pm. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, December 11th at 10:00am at First Baptist Church of Navasota with the Rev. Clyde Larrabee officiating. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Sam was born on October 20, 1934, in Austin to Roy & Adelle (Turner) Henderson. After serving his country in the U.S. Army, he married Jo Ann Johnson on June 23, 1955, in Valley Mills, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Henderson is survived by his wife of 60 years Jo Ann Henderson; daughters Terry Hanssard and husband Richard of Navasota, Tammy Long and husband Gary of Denton, and Alecia Martinez and husband Steve of Navasota; sister Linda Henderson Akin of Hutto; grandchildren Misty May, Steve Martinez, Brittany Long, Stephanie Martinez, Sam Long, A.J. Long, & Hannah Hanssard; great-grandchildren Taylor Soto and Kinsey & Cameron Martinez; a cousin Elizabeth Stark and family of Pflugerville; and step-parents Butch & Viola Atchison of Pflugerville.
Serving as honorary pallbearers are all the members of his beloved Adult 7 First Baptist Sunday School class.
