Ruth Hereford

Mrs. Ruth Woods Hereford, 86, of Navasota passed away Sunday, January 20, 2013 at St. Joseph Regional Health Center. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 -7:00 p.m. at Nobles Funeral Chapel. A funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday, January 23 at 10:00 a.m. at Nobles Funeral Chapel with the Rev. C. McAllister "Mac" Vaughn officiating. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.

Ruth was born on March 8, 1926, in Spoffard, Texas, the daughter of M.R. and Ola (Galloway) Woods. She married H. S. Hereford on June 22, 1946. Ruth worked as secretary for the First Baptist Church of Navasota for thirty -three years.

Mrs. Hereford was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Hugh Woods and sister, Eloise Wren.

She is survived by husband, H.S. Hereford of Navasota; son, Richard Hereford of Navasota; step daughter, Carolyn Smith and daughters of Buda; sisters and brothers-in-Law, Wilma and Eugene Becker of Austin and Maxine and Carl Mayes of Boerne; brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles T. Woods of Johnson City and Eddie and Linda Woods of Porter; grandchildren, Sarah and Darrell Dietrich of Anderson and Rachel Hereford of Navasota and great-grandchildren, Madison Dietrich and Hannah Dietrich.

Serving as pallbearers are Darrell Dietrich of Anderson, Darren Derrett of Roans Prairie, Glenn Fuqua of Navasota, Wade Fuqua of Navasota, Brett Muegge of Brenham and Michael Licce of Anderson.
