Ruby McGee Mitchell, 95, of Conroe passed away Thursday, January 24, 2008 in Conroe. Visitation is Sunday, January 27 at Nobles Funeral Chapel with the family present from 5:00 - 7:30 p.m. Funeral services are set for Monday, January 28, at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Clyde Larrabee of the First Baptist Church of Navasota officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview White Hall Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Ruby was born on November 28, 1912 in Grimes County, daughter of Susie Annar (Clepper) and William Henry McGee. She is best remembered for her remarkable skills as a seamstress.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Grover Mitchell; sisters, Anna Dedmon, Mae Clifton, and Elizabeth Smith; brothers, Wesley, Aubrey, Charlie, and Searcy McGee; and grandsons, Gary Allen Wilson and Chuck Adams.
Ruby is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Doris & Charles Wilson of Conroe and Elaine & Cecil Rose of Onalaska; son and daughter-in-law, Ross & Susie Mitchell of Alvin; 5 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandson.
Serving as pallbearers are Edmund McGee of White Hall, Gerald Meineke of Yarborough, Skip Nobles of Navasota, Ross Lamberth of Houston, Eddie Bay of Austin, and Robert Egly of The Woodlands.
