Ruben Garcia, 71, of Anderson passed away Friday, November 25th at his home. A memorial Mass will be held Saturday, December 3rd at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Anderson, Texas at 10:00am with a rosary preceding the service at 9:00am. Rev. Rodolfo “JoJo” Cal-Ortiz will be the celebrant.
Ruben was born in Harlingen, Texas on November 5, 1945 to Anastacio and Maria (Villarreal) Garcia. He graduated from high school and joined the U.S. Navy where he proudly served his country. He married Claudia Joswiak on September 1, 1998. Between them they had six children. He worked as an engineer of operations most of his adult life until his retirement. Thirteen years ago, the family moved from Houston to Anderson. Ruben loved spending time outside around the farm and raising cattle. His favorite pastime was fishing with his buddies. He enjoyed barbequing and making his “secret recipe” ribs for his family. Ruben was a larger than life personality and will be missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife, Claudia; daughters Rita Garcia, Brandy Robinson, Cindy Lockworth and Tina Lockworth; son Aaron Cannon; daughters-in-law Natalie Garcia and Jocelyn Picos; sons-in-law Jim Robinson and Art Rodriguez; sisters Rosalinda Garcia, Rachel Zamora, Rafaela Garcia, Ruth Woods, and Reina Garcia; brothers Raul, Rudy, Ramiro and Ricky Garcia; and grandchildren Bella, Meagan, Kayden, Katelyn, Ava Maria, Joshua, Quinn, Logan and Seth.
