Robert (Bobby) Franklin Walker, 82, of Washington, passed away on March 13, 2024, surrounded by his family. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 18, 2024, with funeral services to begin at 2:00 p.m., at Friedens Church of Washington, with Pastor Eric Dehmer officiating. Burial to follow in the Friedens Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Nobles Funeral Chapel, 402 E Blackshear St., Navasota, Texas. 936-825-7776.
Bobby was born on July 18, 1941, to parents Walter and Vivian (Crouch) Walker in Grimes County. In 1960, Bobby joined the U.S. Army. He served 3 years active duty taking him to Germany. He received his honorable discharge in 1964 and returned to Grimes County. Bobby and Ollie Jane Stolz were united in marriage on July 17, 1967. They made their home in Washington, Texas. He worked as a welder at Truewell and Armco. In 1979, Bobby opened his own welding shop at home and enjoyed being self-employed. He would later retire from Texas Parks and Wildlife. After his retirement, Bobby enjoyed his favorite hobbies of hunting, fishing and traveling to the casinos. He truly treasured spending time with his grandchildren and especially his great-grandchildren.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents; brother Walter Oran; sister Shirley Ward;along with brothers and sisters-in-law Oscar and Delia Stolz, Charles and Lily Stolz and Fred Thane.
Surviving family includes wife of 57 years, Ollie Jane Walker; son Robert Walker, Jr., and Gail Barron; son Tommy Snow and Janet Rhodes; daughter Tanya Parsons; grandchildren Bridgette Schulze and husband Kevin, John Parsons and wife Kayley, Logan Parsons and wife Shelley, Timmy Bradley and wife Jennifer; great-grandchildren Quinn, Ryder and Rylie Schulze, Brody and Brooks Parsons, Cooper and Carter Parsons, and Miles Bradley.
Serving as pallbearers will be John Parsons, Logan Parsons, Kevin Schulze, Jeff Stolz, Keith Stolz, Anthony Mattern, and Timmy Bradley. Honorary pallbearers will be Maxie Ward, Frank Crouch, Clifford Crouch, Wayne Stolz, Ray Stolz, James Stolz, Elroy Stolz and Ricky Krolczyk.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Friedens Church of Washington and Hospice Brazos Valley.
