Mr. Robert A. Tyler, Sr., 87, of Burleson passed away Monday, July 11 at the Huguley Nursing and Rehab Facility. The family will receive visitors from 5-7pm Wednesday, July 13, and funeral services are set for 9am Thursday, both at Nobles Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Lupe Ybarra officiating. Interment will follow in Whitehall Fairview Cemetery.
Robert was born on June 30, 1924 in Smithville, the son of Willie Lee and Mary Elizabeth (Brewer) Tyler. He served 22 years in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the American Legion in Anderson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Alma "Sally" Tyler; brother, Richard Vernon Tyler; and sisters, Rella Cheatum and Willie Marie Tyler.
Survivors include his children, Lee Tyler and wife Mary, Irene Avila and husband Dwayne, Robert Albert Tyler, Jr. and wife Sandra, Wally Tyler, and Alvin Tyler and wife Heather; brothers, Carl Tyler and Earl Tyler; and 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers are Clinton Walkoviak, Wallie Dwayne Tyler II, Billy Tyler, James "Cut-Out" Nobles, Jerry Nobles, Ryan Walkoviak and Joel Sopchak.
