Bobby was born on March 16, 1955 in Navasota, Texas to Ralph and Modesta (Baldobino) Torres. He attended school in Navasota and became and owner/operator truck driver. He married Vickie Dickens on March 21, 1997. He was a devoted Catholic, strong in his faith and personal relationship with God. He had a servant’s heart and a huge desire to serve God and his faith community using the gifts God gave him in writing and singing music. He played guitar and loved singing for Mass each Sunday, in both English and Spanish. The joy in his heart came naturally and his smile was genuine. He was often described as the “best” and “kindest” man. He loved his family and made it a top priority to spend with them. Running a close second to his love for God and his family were his beloved Dallas Cowboys. He was a devoted fan, sticking by them even in the rotten years. He believed in living life to the fullest – and that included great mexican food - he was a self-proclaimed expert in “all things guacamole”! He enjoyed old war movies, anything Elvis sang, writing music and the love of his furbabies, Elvis and Jonas. Bobby experienced sadness in life with the loss of his parents, wife and many other loved ones, but each day he made a conscience decision to chose joy instead… and that joy radiated from him and was cast upon everyone he met.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his children, son Robert Torres, Jr., (Sandra); daughter Taylor Torres (Danny); son Juaquin Garcia; brothers Benny Torres, Roy (Lydia) and David; sisters Monica Torres, Linda Torres and Mary (Joe) Rangel; grandchildren Aaliyah Torres Penelope Torres, Thea Martinez, Ken and Juliana Garcia and Mark Anthony Rivera and his precious daschaund, Jonas. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, wife Vickie, brother Ralph Torres,, Jr., and beloved daschaund, Elvis.
Serving as pallbearers are David Torres, Benny Torres, Roy Torres, Don Kolkhorst, Ralph Mathew Torres and Linda Torres. Honorary bearers will be Joe Rangel, Kevin Banks, Mark Molina, Gabriel Torres and Bryan Torres.
