Robert Petersen

Mr. Robert L. Petersen, 86, of Navasota, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2009 at his home. Visitation was held from 6:00-8:00pm Monday at Nobles Funeral Chapel, and funeral services were at 10:00am Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Navasota, with Rev. Clyde Larrabee, Rev. Cliff Mayton and Rev. John A. Brady officiating. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
Mr. Petersen was born November 23, 1922 in Washington, to Anton and Clara (Harris) Petersen, and he married Georgie LeFevre in Navasota, on July 20, 1952. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of IBEW 716.
He is survived by his wife; daughters and son-in-law, Georgianna Mayton and Pastor Cliff Mayton of Spring, and Priscilla Kim Petersen of Jacinto City; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Jo and Dean Thompson, Evellyn Carroll and Peggy Cannon, all of College Station, Sue and Glen Butler, Lou Nelson and Ada & Dan Menefee, all of Bryan, and Nina and Roy Valdez of Lone Oak; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Cliff Mayton, Sr., Cliff Mayton, Jr., Robert Mayton, Dean Thompson, Glen Butler and Alvin Coble.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to First Baptist Church of Navasota Family Life Center.
