Robert "Bob" Galaway, 80, of Anderson passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2011 in Houston. The family will receive visitors from 6-9pm Thursday at Nobles Funeral Chapel. Funeral services are set for 10:30am Friday, also at the chapel with the Rev. Henry Sanders officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairview Richards Cemetery.
Bob was born in Corsicana on March 23, 1931, the son of James and Reba (Lewis) Galaway. He married Elnora Satcher in Houston on June 18, 1955 and loved her for 56 years. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a lifelong peace officer, working for the Houston Police Department and the Grimes County Sheriff's Office.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Wanda Galaway Sanders.
He is survived by his wife, Elnora of Anderson; daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Robert Cejka of Pinehurst, and Debbie and Charlie Pasket of Anderson; grandchildren, Jason and Bonnie Oldham of Waller, Russell Pasket of Anderson, Travis and Diane Pasket of Anderson, and Scott Pasket of Roans Prairie; great-grandchildren, Amber Oldham, Colton Barkley, Cameron Barkley, Hayden Pasket and Braleigh Pasket; 2 nieces and 2 nephews.
Serving as pallbearers are Morris Nichols of Anderson, Mike Pasket of Dobbin, Jason Oldham of Waller, Russell Pasket and Travis Pasket, both of Anderson and Scott Pasket of Roans Prairie.
Honorary pallbearers will be the great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
