Born on November 28, 1942, in Houston, TX to Peter Sr. and Mary Kominczak, he was a beloved figure in his community, known for his warmth, humor, and steadfast character. Peter's life was marked by his dedication to family and community. He was a cherished son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, whose love and guidance left a mark on those who knew him. His family was the cornerstone of his life, and he took immense pride in their achievements and happiness.
Throughout his life, Peter was known by many names, including "Pete the Pollock" and "Peter the Rock," each reflection of his vibrant personality. He was a man of many talents and interests, always eager to share his knowledge and skills with others. His passion for life was evident in everything he did, from his professional endeavors to his personal hobbies.
Anyone who had the privilege of knowing Peter knew he loved everything outdoors from hunting and fishing to making his famous polish sausage. He was an active member of the St. Mary’s Catholic church in Plantersville, TX where he served as a faithful member in the Men’s club and volunteered countless times at the annual bazaar.
Peter graduated from St. Pius High School in 1961, shortly after in July 1962 he married the love of his life Martha Lucille. The two had many great adventures together including the time he served in the US Army in Panama, where he was able to rank up to an E5 Sergeant and eventually becoming the Chief of the AG Field Printing plant on base. After his honorable discharge, he and Martha moved back to Houston, TX and welcomed 2 beautiful daughters, Monica Lynn Kominczak and Pamela Leslie Kominczak (Smith). In 1979 Peter, Martha, and their daughters moved to Plantersville, TX, which was the place he called home for the next 45 years. Over those years they suffered the loss of their oldest daughter Monica, and other hardships, but faced them together side by side until the end. Although they went through their share of difficulties there were many more happy memories packed into his lifetime, such as the birth of his four grandchildren and four great grandchildren, to the countless weddings, birthdays, holidays, and so much more that he attended and brought light to with his million-dollar smile.
Over the 81 years, 11 months, and 25 days he had on this earth he was able to spend them doing what he loved. Bar-b-queuing, drinking a cold beer, fishing, hunting, driving the tractor, watching football, listening to good music, spending time with his family and friends, serving his church and community, and most importantly, and arguably his favorite thing eating some good ol’ pecan sandies and slurping down vanilla milkshakes.
Peter's legacy is one of kindness, resilience, and unwavering support for those he loved. He leaves behind a family who adored him and countless friends who will remember his generosity and humor. His spirit will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him.
As we remember Peter, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on in the hearts of all who know him.
Peter is now able to reunite in heaven with his father, Peter Lawrence Kominczak Sr., his mother, Mary Magdalene Kominczak, his daughter, Monica Lynn Kominczak, and countless other family members and friends.
