Peggy was born October 31, 1937 in Rio Grande City, Texas to Jack and Anita (Westerfeld) Phillips. She married Charles Reed Greenwood and together they had one child, Charles “Chuck” Reed Greewood, Jr. Her husband supported their family while Peggy took care of their home and son. She enjoyed cooking, baking and tending her vegetable and flower gardens. Peggy loved animals and always had a special dog or two throughout her life. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and could usually be found in the kitchen, preparing luncheons for receptions and funerals. Always cheerful and outgoing, she had a smile for everyone she met. Her grandchildren gave her a source of great joy, and as everyone gathered at the house for holidays and birthdays, she was in her element, cooking and baking, laughing and enjoying that which she held most dear, her family.
Mrs. Greenwood is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Charles “Chuck” and Michaele Greenwood; sister Patricia Lynn Renn and grandchildren Dalton, Michael and Jenna Greenwood. Preceeding her in death were her parents, husband and brother-in-law Joe Renn.
Serving as pallbearers are Dalton Greenwood, Michael Greenwood, Joe Young, Charles Leiber, Michael Joswiak and Beau Cavanaugh.
