Pamela Joy Finke, 50, of Navasota, passed away Tuesday, March 3rd at St. Joseph Regional Hospital in Bryan. A gathering of friends and family will take place Thursday, March 5th from 5:00 – 7:00pm at Christ Our Light Catholic Church, followed by a parish rosary at 7:00pm. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00am, Friday, March 6th, also at the church. Rev. Rodolfo "JoJo" Cal-Ortiz will be the celebrant. The Rite of Committal will follow in Oakland Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Pam was born in Navasota February 12, 1965 to Thomas and Lois (Noski) Finke. A graduate of Navasota High School and Sam Houston State University, she was elected commissioner of Precinct 4 in 2002 and served the citizens of Grimes County for 12 years. She was currently serving her 4th term as Commissioner. Pam was active in local and state organizations and graciously served all sectors of the community.
She is survived by her parents, Thomas and Lois Finke; sisters Paula Binford and husband Rickey and Marla Gurka and husband Danny; two nieces, Ricklyn Binford and Amberly Gurka Sechelski and husband Ashley; two nephews Will Binford and Tyler Gurka; and one great niece, Farrah Renee Sechelski.
Serving as pallbearers will be Tyler Gurka, Will Binford, and Corey Ross of Navasota; Sheriff Don Sowell of Anderson, and Greg Garrison and John Ryan Davis of Houston.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation be made in Pam’s memory to the Grimes County Little League, Christ Our Light Catholic Church, Trinity Lutheran Church or the charity of your choice.
