Mr. Oscar "Jim" Stolz

Mr. Oscar “Jim” Stolz, 93, of Washington, passed away Thursday, May 7th at Kruse Village Rehab. Visitation with family and friends will be Sunday, May 10th from 3:00 - 5:00pm at Nobles Funeral Chapel. A celebration of his life will be held at 10:00am on Monday, May 11th at Friedens Church of Washington, U.C.C. with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Greg Felder will officiate.
Jim was born to William Fritz and Nora Krueger Stolz on January 26, 1922 in McGregor, Texas. He joined the U.S. Army and served his country proudly. He met and married the love of his life, Cordelia “Delia” Bosse on December 14, 1944 in Washington, Texas. Together they raised four sons. Jim co-owned a grocery store and ice house on the coast with his father; owned and operated a liquor store in Old Washington, and was also a rancher and farmer. He enjoyed fishing and playing blackjack on trips to Las Vegas and Louisiana; but most of all, he loved his family, doted on his grandkids and great grandkids and enjoyed spending time gardening.
He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Pam Stolz, Ray and Sally Stolz, James and Linda Stolz and Elroy and Denise Stolz, all of Washington; sisters and brother-in-law, Vermel Thane of Navasota and Ollie Jane and Bobby Walker of Washington; grandchildren Darren Stolz, Rhonda Boeker, Kerri Kaste, Tracy Pittman, Stephanie Maxson, Jeff Stolz, Will Stolz, Ashley Wilson, Emily Stolz, Jim Allen Stolz, Leslie Stewart and Wesley Stolz; 23 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; wife Delia; brother and sister-in-law Charles and Lilly Stolz; brothers-in-law Fred Thane, Herbert Bosse and wife Mable, sister-in-law Elsie Stolz and husband Herbert, Sr. and an infant son.
Serving as pallbearers are Tommy Snow of Somerville, Darren Stolz of Tulsa, Ok., Jeff and Jim Stolz of Washington, Wesley Stolz of Rowlett, Will Stolz of Washington, Keith Stolz of New Braunsfels and Ricky Krolczyk of Navasota. Honorary pallbearers are Skeeter Stolz, Skipper Stegemoller, John “Tucker” Roese, Bobby Walker and the granddaughters.
