Mrs. Ollie Jean Newman, 67, of Washington, died Thursday, September 11th, at her home. Visitation with family and friends will be Monday, September 15th from 5:00 - 7:00pm at Nobles Funeral Chapel. Services will be held Tuesday morning at 10:00am, also at the funeral chapel. Interment will follow in the Friedens Church Cemetery in Washington. A luncheon will follow at the Washington Sons of Hermann Hall. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.

Ollie was born in Navasota on December 15, 1946, the daughter of Julius and Olga Boenker Roese. She married Douglas Newman in Navasota on December 15, 1967.

Ollie is survived by her daughters Wanda and Jeanette Newman of Washington and Tina Newman of Brenham; grandchildren Demi Newman of Navasota and Rebekah Newman of Washington, sisters Ella Mae Trissell of Clarksville and Betty Joe Roese of Houston; brother and sister-in-law Henry and Pearl Roese of Washington and sister-in-law Francis Roese of Washington.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister Peggy Roese; brothers Glenn and Raymond Roese; grandson Ethan Cord; sister-in-law Louise Roese; brother-in-law J. D. Trissell; and parents-in-law Oliver and Mildred Newman.

Memorials may be made to the church of your choice or the Breast Cancer Society.
