Norman H. Farley, 80, of Anderson, passed away Friday, March 28, 2008, at his residence.
A memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 1 at Nobles Funeral Chapel in Navasota. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Norman was born in Greene County, AR on March 6, 1928, son of Tony and Eula (Garner) Farley. He graduated from Stanford High in Greene County, AR in 1945 and then served in World War II with the U.S. Navy. He married Deloris (Peggy) Adams on October 20, 1949 in Paragould, AR and served in the Korean War with the U.S. Marine Corps. Afterward, Norman served with the Arkansas Army National Guard in Little Rock where he retired as a Colonel. He was also a member of the Retired Officers Association (ROA). After his military service, Norman spent most of his career as a quality control inspector with Associated Milk Producers Incorporated (AMPI) and retired in 1989 after 26 years of employment.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Orman and Houston; sister, Verneil Shock; and son-in-law, Mike Carpenter.
Norman is survived by his wife of 58 years, Peggy Farley of Anderson; daughters and son-in-law, Donna & Chuck Taylor of Texarkana, AR and Rhonda Carpenter of Huntsville; son and daughter-in-law, Ted & Pat Farley of Magnolia; sister, Wilda Harris of Jonesboro, AR; 3 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and 6 step-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions may be made to Hospice of Brazos Valley.
