Nila Young

Nila Young, 80, of Brenham, TX, passed away on Friday, November 29, 2024, in Navasota. A memorial service will be held Sunday, December 8, 2024, at First Christian Church in Brenham at 2:00 PM. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.

Nila Faye (Frenzel) Young was born on December 16, 1943, to Alfred Frenzel and Nola (Klaus) Frenzel in Burton, Texas.

Nila was active in her church and was an avid reader and domino player. She worked in a variety of retail jobs, most notably for several photography companies that allowed her the opportunity to travel all over the U.S. Nila also sold Tupperware for many, many years. She was very creative and enjoyed making jewelry, stuffed animals, and baby clothes for her great-grandchildren.

Nila is preceded in death by her parents, Alfred Frenzel and Nola Frenzel; her brothers, Wilfred Frenzel, Leslie Frenzel, Corvin Frenzel & his wife Ruth; and her sister, Nelda Schroeder & her husband Elroy.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Gail Schroeder; her son, Glenn Schroeder & his wife, Melinda; her grandchildren, Rachel Schroeder, Will Schroeder and his wife, Brittany; her great-grandchildren, Jethro Schroeder, Violet Schroeder, and Penelope Schroeder; her sister, Lorna Finke; her sister-in-law, Mildred Frenzel; her sweet dog, Mr. Magoo; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
