Myrtle Abernathy Robinson Purvis, 93, of Navasota passed away Wednesday, September 8 at the Grimes St. Joseph Health Center. A visitation will be held from 5-8pm Friday, September 10, and funeral services are set for 2pm Saturday, both at Nobles Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Dwain Steinkuehler officiating. Interment will follow in Bedias Baptist Cemetery.
Myrtle was born in New Orleans, LA on October 6, 1916 to Andrew Weston and Nettie (McCord) Abernathy. Of 15 siblings, she was the last surviving.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Raymond Robinson, and William D. Purvis; son, Andrew N. Robinson; grandsons, Richard Mays and Ricky Robinson; and granddaughters, Laura Canova and Hannah Goldson.
Survivors include her children, Willard Robinson & wife Ersie of Belton, Allen Robinson of Navasota, Kathleen Rowlett & husband Don of Leander, James Robinson & wife Phyllis of North Zulch, Nettie Harris & husband Walt of Kingston, OK, Andrea Jacoby & husband Charles of Navasota, and Sam Robinson & wife Deborah of Navasota; 18 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.
Serving as pallbearers are Samuel Robinson of Navasota, Nathan Robinson of College Station, Larry Robinson of Houston, Jason Jacoby of Houston, Brian Jacoby of Navasota, and Nick Harris of Wylie. Honorary pallbearers are Kyle Rowlett, David Rowlett, John Mays and Billy Harris.
