Surrounded by family, Mrs. Myrtle Emma Schroeder Thane, 87, of Navasota passed away peacefully Monday, June 10th at Woodhaven Village in Conroe. Visitation with family and friends will be held from 5:00 – 7:00pm, Thursday, June 13th at Nobles Funeral Chapel. A celebration of life will be at 10:00 am, Friday, June 14th at Trinity Lutheran Church in Navasota with interment following at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Anderson. Rev. Matthias Dinger will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Myrtle was born in Anderson on July 17, 1931 to Otto and Mary (Wehmeier) Schroeder. She was baptized August 30, 1931 by Rev. H.E. Spitzenpheil and was confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church on April 15, 1945 by Rev. L. Karcher. Myrtle's confirmation verse was Hebrew 13:5, “Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for He has said,"I will never leave you nor forsake you."
On February 7, 1948, Myrtle married Edwin William Thane at Trinity Lutheran Church. Together they raised 2 daughters. Myrtle was a woman of faith and was immensely proud of her family. She was a devoted wife of 62 years, loving mother and adoring grandmother.
Myrtle is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Bonnie Elaine & Terry Keenright of Houston, and Brenda Sue & David Barrett of Navasota; grandchildren, Christopher Lee Keenright & wife Erin of Huntsville, Stephanie Lea Keenright of Houston, Jeremy Edwin Barrett & wife Ashley of Conroe, and Kimberly Renee & husband Damien Tijerina of Navasota; and great-grandchildren, Morgan Keenright, Landon & Emmali Tijerina and Paige Barrett.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Edwin Thane and siblings Esther Kornegay, Albin Schroeder, Walter Schroeder, Henry Schroeder and Oscar Schroeder.
Serving as pallbearers are Larry Joswiak, Douglas Joswiak, Ray Busse and Bill Boehm.
