Minnie Ahrenbeck

February 18, 1913 — April 5, 2011

Minnie Ahrenbeck, 98, of Navasota, passed away at the Sheridan of Navasota on April 5, 2011. Services will be held at Nobles Funeral Chapel at 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 7, 2011. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery. Visitation is at Nobles Funeral Chapel from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday.

Minnie was born on February 18, 1913 in Washington, Texas to Fritz and Pauline (Renn) Benker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn "Boots" Ahrenbeck; parents, Fritz and Pauline (Renn) Benker; brother, Fred Benker; sisters, Hilda Whitlock, Erna Petzolt and Rosa Lee Rushing.

Minnie was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Navasota. She had a passion for helping others and for many years enjoyed volunteering in the kitchen at First United Methodist. She also enjoyed volunteering for the Red Cross blood drive serving cookies and punch for many years.

Survivors include her nephews and nieces, Monroe & Carole Petzolt, Wilma Trute, Dinah Burgin, Cindy & Kenneth Powers, Gene & Janice Benker, Larry & Rose Benker, La Nell Langford, Diann & Bill Schroeder, Elaine & Joe Carrington, Rochelle Peters, Wayne & Dawn Peters, and sister-in-law Clara Benker. Her beloved loyal dog, Nicky, also survives her.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kitchen Fund at First United Methodist Church, PO Box 169, Navasota, TX 77868.
