Mildred was born March 15, 1937 in Washington, TX to Fritz and Elnora (Buck) Wellmann. She was baptized on May 2, 1937 and confirmed on Palm Sunday March 18, 1951 at Friedens Church of Washington. She attended Washington Grade School and Navasota High School.

After meeting the love of her life, Albert Schroeder, they married on February 16, 1958 and welcomed two children, Ricky and Brenda. The family resided in Anderson where Mildred assisted in running the farm and A&G Dairy through the early 2000s. Always one to take care of others, you would often find her whipping up a home cooked meal to share with whomever entered through her door, all were welcome. Her dining room table heard many a story and shared many a laugh. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and cherished friend who touched many lives with her kind spirit and quiet strength.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Fritz (wife Lillian), Bernhard, and Melvin (wife Dorothy Marie), sister Leona Lunsford (husband Billy), and sister-in-law Geraldine Binford (husband Donald).

She is survived by her children, son, Ricky Schroeder and wife Sandy of Anderson; daughter, Brenda Schroeder of Anderson; sister, Minette Grice and husband Johnny of Navasota; brother-in-law Gerald Schroeder and wife Mary of Anderson; granddaughters, Loren Burns and husband Blake of Shiro, and Megan Schroeder of Bryan; and “her girls” great granddaughters, Harper and Rylee Burns.

Serving as pallbearers are Blake Burns of Shiro, Mark Diorio of Navasota, Tony Bohnert, Ryan Haynie, and Kent Fisher of Anderson, and Carl Morrill of Bryan. Honorary pallbearers are Bob Taylor of Hempstead, and Terry Lunsford of Cleveland.

Special thanks to Remarkable Hospice, Home Instead, and caregivers Cindy Williams and Meghan Antcliff for their steadfast support and care.
