Meta Ashorn

Meta E. Ashorn, 83, formerly of Anderson, passed away Sunday, February 17, 2008, at Grimes St. Joseph Health Center.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 19, at Zion Lutheran Church in Anderson with Pastor Dan Schoessow officiating. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Ms. Ashorn was born on January 17, 1925 in Grimes County, daughter of Henry and Matilda (Brockschmidt) Ashorn. She was raised by her great aunt and uncle, Louise and Carl Schroeder. Growing up on a dairy farm, she naturally acquired a deep love for animals which she kept her entire life.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Alma Fehler.
Meta is survived by niece, Wynetta Curoy of California and nephew, Jimmy Fehler of Conroe.
Serving as pallbearers are Donald Yargo, Donny Yargo, Will Ray, Cecil Schroeder, and Carl Schroeder, all of Anderson, and Neal Bosse of Navasota.
In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church.
