Mayola Sturm

Mrs. Mae Sturm, 73, of Navasota passed away Tuesday, August 3 at the Grimes St. Joseph Health Center in Navasota. The family will receive visitors from 5-7pm Thursday, August 5, with a prayer service beginning at 7pm, at Nobles Funeral Chapel. Funeral services are set for 10am Friday, August 6 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Navasota with the Rev. Don Kasper officiating. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
Mae was born in Navasota on April 8, 1937 to Fritz & Hilda (Hemann) Abke. She married Jerald I. Sturm, Sr. in Conroe on January 30, 1980.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Fred, Jim and Wilbert Abke.
Survivors include her husband, Jerald Sturm of Navasota; daughters & sons-in-law, Connie & Ron Hoisington, and Cathy & Frank Ross, all of Willis; sons & daughters-in-law, Carlos & Mattie Pennington of Conroe, Jerry Sturm, Jr. of Leona; Dennis & Cheryl Sturm of Goodrich, and Randy Sturm of Henderson; sister, Geraldine Abke Henderson of Willis; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. .
Serving as pallbearers are Johnny Ray Abke of Splendora; Richard Westfall and Clint Becker, both of Navasota; Martin Wehmeier,Jr. of Missouri City; Aaron Troyer of LaPorte; and Dale Davis of Huffman. Honorary pallbearers will be Leon Jorney and E.J. Pilat, both of Navasota.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church of Navasota.
