Matthew Davis

May 29, 1990 — April 11, 2010

Matthew Lucian Davis, 19, of Anderson went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, April 11, 2010. Family and friends will meet at the Christ United Methodist Church fellowship hall in College Station from 6-8pm Thursday, April 15 for visitation. A memorial service is set for 10:30am Friday, April 16, also at Christ United Methodist Church, with Reverend Jerry House and Reverend Brian Smith officiating. A graveside service will be held at 3pm, Friday, at the Mooreville Cemetery in Mooreville, TX.
Matthew was a 2009 graduate of Anderson-Shiro High School, and an employee of Kent Moore Cabinets. He was always known for his outgoing personality and genuine love for every person he came in contact with. He will be remembered most for his passionate love for the Lord and an unshakeable faith that he carried right on his chest and spread to everyone he knew. A long time member of Christ United Methodist Church in College Station, he found great joy giving back to the youth group and church family that encouraged his spiritual growth, by serving as a youth counselor. He was a compassionate young man, with a pure heart and gentle spirit that left everyone he knew feeling loved and cared for.
Matthew was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Jim Jack and Betty Lou Davis of Chilton, TX; his maternal grandparents, John Derwent and Margaret Ruth Edmondson of Casper, WY; and cousin, Alexis Marie Edmondson of Casper, WY.
He is survived by his parents, James and Catherine Davis of Anderson; sister, Alissa Davis of Los Angeles, CA; brother, Guthrie Davis of Waco; sister, Morgan Davis of Waco; uncle, Robert (Bob) and wife Mary Jane Davis of Lott, TX; aunt, Dana Davis Torres of Golinda, TX; aunt, Joan Rosensweig and husband Dennis of Casper, WY; uncle, Richard Edmondson of Sheridan, WY; uncle, Paul Edmondson and wife Ann of Ft. Collins, CO; aunt, Mary Roberts and husband Ken of So. Coffeyville, OK; and uncle, John Edmondson of Casper, WY; as well as numerous cousins and extended family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Christ United Methodist Church, Youth Group, 4203 State Hwy 6 S, College Station, TX 77845, or to Community Bible Church, Attn: Brian Smith, P.O. Box 10897, College Station, TX 77842.
