Mary Bess Curd, 81, formerly of Navasota, passed away in the presence of those she loved on Saturday, February 9, 2008 in Bryan.
Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 12, at Oakland Cemetery in Navasota with the Rev. J.K. "Tim" Bruegger officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Mrs. Curd was born on August 14, 1926 in Navasota, the only child of Dwight and Bess (Sledge) Hill. On October 30, 1942, at the age of 16, she married Ben Curd, and they enjoyed 55 years together until his death on February 9, 1998. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her main interest was always her family and she will be greatly missed by them.
Survivors include: daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl & Louis Zietz of Navasota; son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Maggie Curd of Schertz, TX; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
The family wishes to thank the nurses at Sherwood Healthcare in Bryan for the care and friendship they provided her.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that remembrances be sent to the First United Methodist Church in Navasota where she was a lifelong member, or to Hospice Brazos Valley.
