Mrs. Mary S. Crawford, 99, lifelong resident of Navasota, passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at the Grimes St. Joseph Health Center. The family will receive visitors from 5-7pm Friday, December 17, and funeral services are set for 2pm Saturday, December 18, both at Nobles Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Mary Curry officiating.
Mrs. Crawford was born in Navasota on February 22, 1911 to Haynes & Kate Alice (Lott) Shannon. She married Dewitt Crawford in Brenham on December 6, 1935.
She was preceded in death by her husband; and sister, Katherine Stewart.
Survivors include her daughters & son-in-law, Mary Katherine Crawford, and Josephine Lee Crawford & George Wilder, all of Navasota; son, Robert Shannon Crawford of Navasota; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, with 1 on the way; and 8 great-great grandchildren, with 2 on the way.
Serving as pallbearers will be Shannon Craddock, Pat Craddock, Jr., Haynes Crawford, Henry Zaragoza, Ray Drews, and Randy Krumrey, all of Navasota.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the local food pantries and animal shelters, as well as deserving veterans organizations.
