Mr. Marty Rhodes

Charles Martin "Marty" Rhodes, Jr., 57, of Baytown, formerly of Navasota, passed away Tuesday, September 9th at San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown, Texas. Visitation with family and friends will be held 5:00 - 8:00pm, Friday, September 12th at Nobles Funeral Chapel. Graveside Services will be at 10:00am, Saturday, September 13th at George Cemetery in Normangee. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Marty was born on May 23, 1957 in Navasota to Charles Rhodes, Sr. and Georgia Ann Bynum Rhodes. He helped his father in the dairy business, which gave birth to the love for livestock that would stay with him through his entire adult life. He graduated high school in Cypress and then obtained his license in cosmetology. He operated a dairy farm in Piedmont and then worked as a hairdresser in Navasota, Bryan and most recently Baytown for many years. His passion in life were his family and his race horses. Having become a grandfather for the first time, he was blessed to have just recently been able to hold his first newborn grandson, Ace. Marty loved his family, friends and co-workers. He will be missed by many.
Marty is survived by his father, Charles Rhodes, Sr., and wife Wanda of North Zulch; sons Seth Rhodes of Austin and Colton Rhodes of Bryan; sisters and brother-in-law Charla Busa of Richards and Cheryl and Floyd Burzynski of Plantersville; grandson, Ace Rhodes; beloved aunts Nina Ruth “Pookey” Crane and Martha Rabun and special friend Cherry Luman; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, brother Bobby and uncle Bob J. Rhodes.
