Martha T. Bilski, 86, of Anderson, passed away at St. Joseph Hospital in Bryan on Monday, August 25, 2014. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 28 at 6:00 - 8:00pm at Nobles Funeral Chapel, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00pm. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, August 29th at 9:30 am at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Anderson. Monsignor Benedict Zientek, Monsignor Billy Zientek and Rev. Lawrence Jozwiak will co-celebrate. Interment will be in the St. Stanislaus Church Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Martha was born in Brenham, Texas on June 28, 1928 to Wallace and Mary (Zientek) Murski. She attended school in Brenham and married her high school sweetheart, Nick P. Bilski, Sr., on October 25, 1947. Together, they raised two daughters and a son. They moved to Anderson when he retired in 1982. Mrs. Bilski enjoyed gardening, particularly her hibiscus plants, camping and dancing to polish music. She was often seen with her companion, her beloved fox terrier Holly.
She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Frances and Bobby Meyer of Brenham, and Doris and Joe Tykal of Anderson; son Nick Bilski, Jr., and partner Ric Byrd of Magnolia; sister Clara Warchesik of Brenham; grandchildren Robbie and Vicki Wooten, Lance Wooten, Tracy and Philip DeFrancesco, Amber and John Johnson, Travis Tykal and Kelsey Tykal; great grandchildren Rylan Wooten, Dakota Johnson and Virgil Johnson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Nick Bilski, Sr., seven brothers and two sisters.
Pallbearers are Robbie Wooten of Burton, Lance Wooten of Tempe, Arizona, Travis Tykal of Anderson, Ricky Kimich of Anderson, Leon Kimich, Jr., of Anderson and Ethan Perry of Iola.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, friends consider a memorial donation to the American Lung Association.
