Mariah Carrie Ostiguin

December 28, 1995 — May 10, 2018

Mariah Carrie Ostiguin, 22 of Somerset, died Thursday, May 10th in a car accident. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 15th from 10:00AM - 1:00PM at Nobles Funeral Chapel followed by funeral services beginning at 1:00PM. The Rev. Henry Sanders will officiate. Interment will follow in Courtney Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.

Mariah was born December 28, 1995 in San Antonio, Texas to Marcus and Adela (Garza) Ostiguin. She was an only child. She graduated from Somerset High School and attended some college courses. Mariah lost her father when she was eight years old, but one of her favorite memories of him was going fishing together. She and fiance, David Martinez had been together since high school and were planning a wedding in the near future. Mariah loved sunsets, animals, (particularly cats), reading, road trips, studying space, galaxies and astronomy, pizza, her step-dad’s spanish rice, music and playing pranks on those she loved. She had a passion for life, enjoyed fitness and working out, although a knee injury limited her from running and extreme sports. Mariah was fiesty, lovable and loyal. She kept her circle small, preferring the presence of those closest to her rather than large groups. Although she and David had no children, she was mom to their two cats, Blaze and Bella, whom she doted on and spoiled relentlessly.

Mariah is survived by her mother, Adela Ostiguin and stepfather Kelly Steele of Somerset; fiance David Martinez of Somerset, sisters and brothers-in-law Kim and Jason Belcik of Austin and Elizabeth and Joey Moctezuma of San Diego, CA.; niece Lucy Belcik and nephews Henry Belcik, and Charlie and Evan Moctezuma and grandmother Sulema Espinoza.

Serving as pallbearers are Kelly Steele, David Martinez, Javier Quevedo, Sr., Javier Quevedo, Jr., Isaac Jimenez and Jacob Jimenez, all of Somerset.

She was preceded in death by her father, Marcus Ostiguin.
