Miss Mariah Ordaz, 17 of Anderson passed away Monday, July 10th at her home. Visitation with family and friends will be held from 5:00 - 7:00pm, Thursday, July 13th at Nobles Funeral Chapel. A celebration of her life will be held at 10:00am, Friday, July 14th at Zion Lutheran Church in Anderson with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Kermit Bostelman will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.

Mariah was born November 22, 1999 in Bryan, Texas to Victor Manuel Ordaz and Jennifer Nicole Schroeder. She attended high school in Anderson, Texas and was a member of the Anderson-Shiro High School Band Color Guard. Smart and outgoing, Mariah loved to read, write and spend time with family and friends. She had a vibrant smile and an inner strength that, even in the darkest of days, allowed her to always be a light and inspiration to those around her. Often thought to be an “old soul” and wise beyond her years, Mariah was an excellent listener and a giver of sound advice to friends who sought it. She was quick witted and laughed often, finding joy in her animals and nature, particularly through the lens of her camera. Her favorite quote was “I was not built to break” and she exhibited that strength daily throughout the past couple of years. Her family will remember her as their brave, beautiful daughter, sister and granddaughter who adored her family and who held strong to her faith. Her friends will miss her laughter. Her courageous spirit will be missed by all who ever met her.

Left to cherish the beautiful memories she left behind are her parents, Jennifer and Jeronimo Solis of Anderson and Victor Ordaz of Houston; sisters Mariah Solis and Elisa Solis of Singleton; brothers and sister-in-law Colin Ordaz of Anderson and Christian and Marilyn Ordaz of College Station; grandparents Linda Schroeder of Anderson, Santiago and Sylvia Ordaz of Navasota, and Jeronimo and Beatriz Solis of Navasota; great-grandmothers Margarita Moreno of Houston and Susana Ruiz of Mexico and niece, Chrissy Rose.

Serving as pallbearers are Martin Solis and Luis Solis of Navasota, Brian Moreland and Matt Borski of Anderson, Marco Ordaz of Houston and James Gonzalez of College Station. The Anderson-Shiro Class of 2018 will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Mariah was preceded in death by her grandfather Edward Schroeder of Anderson.
