Margaret W. Armatys, 81, of Navasota passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at Sheridan of Navasota. She was born on September 13, 1932 to Herman William and Frieda Maria Wellmann of Washington, Texas.
Mrs. Armatys was baptized, confirmed and a faithful member of Friedens Church of Washington, UCC and a member of the Sons of Herman Lodge. She resided in Navasota, Texas for the past 61 years. She was employed at Guaranty Federal Bank as a savings counselor where she retired after 25 years of service. Mrs. Armatys did not have any children, but she dearly loved her nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews as her own. She loved dancing, hunting and playing cards with her late husband, family and friends.
Mrs. Armatys is survived by her brother, William H. Wellmann of Washington, Texas; aunt, Mary R. Martin of Cotulla, Texas; Sisters-in-law, Leona A. Pasket, Angelina A. Petersen, Betty Joe Armatys, Margaret H. Armatys and Betty Ketchum all of Navasota and Dolly Ruth Armatys of Burton; brother-in-law, Wallace Petersen of Navasota and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her late husband of 55 years, Wallace Armatys; parents Herman and Frieda Wellmann of Washington; twin brother, James Wellmann of Navasota; sister Elsie Ladd of Dallas; brothers-in-law, Steve, Max, Andrew, Pete and Frank Armatys of Navasota, Ray Ladd of Dallas; sisters-in-law Leona Mae Wellmann of Washington; Clara Dell Woods of Franklin; Annie A. Smith of Navasota; niece Carrie Hobbs of Dallas and nephews Gary and Lonnie Ladd of Dallas.
Serving as pallbearers are Eddie Bosse, Randy Hemann and Randy Stapp of College Station, Kevin Bosse of Brenham, Neal Bosse, Clell Goodson, Robert Nobles and James Shiflett all of Navasota.
Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, December 27, 2013 at Nobles Funeral Chapel with family present from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be Saturday, December 28, 2013 at 10:00 at Friedens Church of Washington, UCC., with the Rev. Greg Felder officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.
