Mrs. Magdalena Montemayor Serna, 64, of Navasota, passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan. Visitation will be held Friday, October 23 from 5-7pm, with a parish rosary recited at 7pm, and funeral services are set for 10:00am Saturday, October 24, both at Nobles Funeral Chapel with Rev. Raul Marterior officiating. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
Mrs. Serna was born June 30, 1945 in Mexico to Manuel and Magdalena (Gonzales) Montemayor.
She is survived by her husband, Jorge Regaldo Serna; father, Manuel Montemayor; daughters & sons-in-law, Maggy Rico-Lira and Francisco Ibarra, Ramona Molina and Archie Sechelski, Gene Baldobino & Juliet Rico-Baldobino and Luz Maria Morales, all of Navasota, and Edward and Maria Rollins of College Station; son, Leonardo M. & Eva Rico; sisters & brothers-in-law, Cheta Vasquez, Chorita Gonzales, Sylvia Sanford, Vela Montemayor, all of Colorado City, and Yolanda Stafford of Buffalo, NY; brothers, Roberto Gonzales and Antonio Gonzales of Colorado City, and Manuel Montemayor of Kerville; 20 Grandchildren and 6 Great-Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ramona Suarez, Leonardo Montemayor, Antonio Gonzales, Maria de Jesus San Miguel; and step-father, Benito Gonzales.
Serving as pallbearers will be Austin T. Abad, Antonio S. Lira II, Benjamin Z. Molina, Erick S. Morales, Isaac M. Barrera, all of Navasota, and Antonio C. Escamilla, Jr. of College Station.
