Madeline Klump, 81, of Navasota passed away Tuesday, October 11 at the College Station Medical Center. The family will receive visitors from 6-8pm Wednesday, October 12 at Nobles Funeral Chapel and funeral services are set for 2pm Thursday, also at the chapel with the Rev. Ed Kucera officiating. Interment will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham.
Madeline was born in Austin County on March 28, 1930, the daughter of Herman and Mary (Baron) Mondrofsky. She was baptized and confirmed at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Latium, Texas. She graduated from Brenham High School and attended Dixon Business College in Austin studying bookkeeping. On July 1, 1950, she married Leroy Klump and loved him for 61 years. Madeline worked in Austin and helped support them as Leroy attended pharmacy school at the University of Texas. She was a devoted wife and mother who was an assistant Campfire Girl Leader and a room mother in her children's classrooms. She was also an excellent seamstress and cook. She collected cookbooks and loved reading recipes and watching the "Price is Right" and "Wheel of Fortune". She also worked in the family owned and operated Farquhar Pharmacy in the Navasota Medical Center for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Leroy; daughters and sons-in-law, Becky and Sam Watson of Navasota and Bonnie and Gary Hartstack of Washington; son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Kristie Klump of Georgetown; brother and sister-in-law, James C. and Gladys Mondrofsky of Brenham; brother-in-law and his wife, Raymond and Esther Klump; grandchildren, Ashley, Michaela and Austin Klump, Cori and Brian Herzog, Brooke and Jared Jensen and Erin Hartstack; and 4 great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers are Darrell Winkelmann, Rodney Knode, Ron Kuecker, Austin Klump, Jared Jenson and Brian Herzog.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
